Barbara E. Biggs, is a licensed psychologist specializing in clinical practice, mediation-training, and consulting. She has made several guest appearances as a commentator on KNBC television and has been interviewed by Web MD as well as three national magazines. Barbara has published a number of articles in Group and Organization Studies, Small Group Behavior, and other professional journals, as well as the book Up From Underachievement (with Gary Felton), a description of their successful program for poor achievers at Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angeles. Since 1976, she has conducted workshops for many clients including the California Office of Administrative Hearings and the Xerox Corporation. Barbara also has designed and facilitated mediation-training programs for the Venice Neighborhood Justice Center, the Los Angeles City Attorney's office, and the Landlord Tenant Mediation Board. She has been president of both the California Association of Psychology Providers and the Los Angeles Society of Clinical Psychologists. Barbara has served on the boards of the non-profit Westside Children's Center and the Group Psychotherapy Association of Southern California. With her husband, Sidney Sonenblum, Barbara assisted in the development of JBB's predecessor, TEC Next Step, and also spent several years as a group co-leader for that program in both Los Angeles and Phoenix.
